The first Global Legal Hackathon

The Global Legal Hackathon, the largest Legal Hackathon so far, will take places in February 2018.

The Global Legal Hackathon will take place simultaneously in multiple countries and cities all over the world.  It will bring together stakeholders in the legal technology industry in an intense 51-hour sprint of legal tech education, creativity, and invention.

It engages law schools, law firms and in-house departments, legal technology companies, governments, and service providers to the legal industry – across the globe. It will bring together the best thinkers, doers and practitioners in law in support of a unified vision: rapid development of solutions to improve the legal industry, world-wide. The aim is to assemble 10.000 people for this event.

A growing number of major city hosts are joining this legal innovation movement. You and your organization are invited to host a branch of this event in your city, or partner with other organizations to co-host.

The hackathon will have several stages: One winning team from each host event will participate in a second round of judging by submitting their idea and application to a global judging process. The top teams in each category will then be invited to an awards banquet in New York, where the global winners will be announced.

The timeline is as follows:
