The Columbia Law School Legal Tech Association is a student-led organization that aims to centralize and develop education, community and innovation in the field of legal technology.

The purpose of CLS Legal Tech is to centralize and develop education, community and innovation in the field of legal technology and to promote, encourage and assist Columbia Law Students in their pursuit of careers in law using or creating legal technology. CLS Legal Tech aims for its members to gain exposure to the broad scope of available legal technology, empowering the practice of all areas of law.

CLS Legal Tech achieves its mission by hosting lunch talks, panel discussions, workshops and field trips in relation to various areas of legal technology. In addition, CLS Legal Tech will conduct research in collaboration with legal tech initiatives and develop projects in order to help students to realize their legal tech projects and to create solutions using legal tech.

CLS Legal Tech will focus on providing students with opportunities to learn about various sectors within legal tech (and the legal services market as a whole) through on-campus and off-campus opportunities that draw on the expertise of academics, students and industry professionals, leveraging the robust Columbia network and industry contacts within this space.

CLS Legal Tech will focus on making Columbia University the hub for legal technology by connecting students, faculty, alumni and other industry professionals to foster a true community.

CLS Legal Tech will build on Columbia’s multi-school resources and support students involved in innovation in the sector, whether they are starting their own company or striving to bring innovation to established companies through intrapreneurship.
